"Goodbye Mama Mia"

Today was one of the most bitter-sweet days of my life, another end to a chapter. Mia has been in our family for over 5 years, she came to us as a puppy. When Ben and I got married we wanted to get a dog right away, we wanted a weiner dog and searched in the paper for a while. We finally came across a Dachshund mix in the sunday paper. We drove to the house and we met her, we loved her from the beginning, she was s0 nervous on the ride home that she crawled up my neck and hid behind my hair the entire way home. She was our "love child" before we had our own babies, she slept in our bed and went on all trips with us.
So much has happened in the past year, it has gotten so challenging for me to take care of the animals. Mia was not getting the attention she truly deserved, she spent most of her time either outside or in the garage. I felt so sad for her, that I really started praying that God would find a wonderful, loving home for her. As always faithfully God answered my prayer. My good friend Sheena suggested she would ask her step-mom whether she had room for one more small dog (they already have 6 little ones), Shirley agreed to take Mama!!!! Her and I spoke on the phone that night and she described to me the most PERFECT home for my sweet Mia! They have a large backyard, other dogs for Mia to play with, a doggy door where she can freely go in and out whenever she wants and even a pool (Mama Mia loves to swim). This morning the boys and I loved on Mia one more time and we hit the road. Here are some pictures of Mama's last day with us.

In the car on the way to her new home. She knew something was up!

Mia's new home with Shirley and Fred

Mia meeting her new friends, they really welcomed her very well!

Mia's new yard, she ran right out there to sniff around (and yes that is a donkey in the background)

Some more of Mia's new friends!

Goodbye Mama!!
Shirley is my angel, she is giving Mia the home that I have been praying and have been hoping for. Mia wasn't just the family dog but a part of the family, my friend!
Shirley called me this evening to assure me that Mia fit right in and loves her new home, she will be sleeping in the bed tonight not the garage! Thank you Jesus for giving Mia an amazing new home, she deserves it :-)

"Tea Time"

Many have described Calvin as "sweet", "gentle", "quiet", "shy", and "good", as he is absolutely all of those things you haven't met the "sly", "sneaky", "troublemaker" Calvin that he is when left alone by himself too long. Yesterday I was upstairs busy with Tobias, Calvin decided he was going to make some iced tea for mommy. Here is some evidence from the crime scene! ( I cracked up when I saw it!)

Sweet Little Face

Exhibit "A"

Yum!! I had a blast cleaning that up!! Calvin ran and hid in the closet when he saw me going into the bathroom...he knew he was in big trouble!

"Veggie Tales"

So I listen to Family Life Radio and for the past few weeks they talked about Church of Joy having the premiere of the new Veggie Tales movie, so I thought how fun would that be for the boys. I was so excited to take them and the best part of the whole thing was that it was a free event. I had been looking forward to it all week... let's just say it didn't go quite how I had planned. The movie was suppose to start at 9 a.m. which meant I had to wake all the boys up pretty early (they like to sleep in until at least 8:30 usually..which of course I love), anyway I started waking them up one by one and managed to get everyone including myself dressed, fed and out the door in 30 minutes, which is not easy ( I think that is a record for me, but I was excited to get there on time). So as we get to the church we round up the gang and get inside, we sat towards the back which made it easier to get out if we needed to. So the movie finally started right on time and the boys sat and watched it for about ohhh 5 minutes!!!! Owen kept standing in his seat and talking entirely too loud. Calvin kept trying to escape from the theater, and Tobias crapped himself!! Needless to say we left early and took the boys to the park and then we went home and did yard work.. Eventhough the day didn't go quite as I had envisioned it, it was still a wonderful day!

Owen was excited when he first woke up!

I love Tobias' "sleepy eyes"!!

Calvin is ready to go!!

Owen was excited (the first 5 min of the movie)!

Cool Slumber Party Pics

Owen is almost 4 years old and as each day goes by we become closer buddies, I got home from work and Owen of course was begging to sleep in my comfy cal king bed (as he does every single night) and usually I say no because otherwise I end up getting kicked all night long. Tonight I decided we could have a slumber party, Owen wanted to take pictures and I think they came out kind of cool, so I thought what the heck lets post them!!

The Sushi was Yummy!!

Me, Ashley, Mary and their dudes went out for some sushi. For those of you who have never had sushi lets just say its quite a culinary experience, to say the least. I myself am very new to the "sushi world" but I was in great hands, you see Mary and Troy are avid "sushi-ers". Mary helped me choose what I would be dining on. The food was incredible and I absolutely cannot wait to go back for sushi!! We had a great time at dinner, but the night was still young so we decided to go the Shout House which is a piano bar. We had the time of our lives, I haven't laughed that hard in a really long time.
