Today was one of the most bitter-sweet days of my life, another end to a chapter. Mia has been in our family for over 5 years, she came to us as a puppy. When Ben and I got married we wanted to get a dog right away, we wanted a weiner dog and searched in the paper for a while. We finally came across a Dachshund mix in the sunday paper. We drove to the house and we met her, we loved her from the beginning, she was s0 nervous on the ride home that she crawled up my neck and hid behind my hair the entire way home. She was our "love child" before we had our own babies, she slept in our bed and went on all trips with us.
So much has happened in the past year, it has gotten so challenging for me to take care of the animals. Mia was not getting the attention she truly deserved, she spent most of her time either outside or in the garage. I felt so sad for her, that I really started praying that God would find a wonderful, loving home for her. As always faithfully God answered my prayer. My good friend Sheena suggested she would ask her step-mom whether she had room for one more small dog (they already have 6 little ones), Shirley agreed to take Mama!!!! Her and I spoke on the phone that night and she described to me the most PERFECT home for my sweet Mia! They have a large backyard, other dogs for Mia to play with, a doggy door where she can freely go in and out whenever she wants and even a pool (Mama Mia loves to swim). This morning the boys and I loved on Mia one more time and we hit the road. Here are some pictures of Mama's last day with us.
Shirley is my angel, she is giving Mia the home that I have been praying and have been hoping for. Mia wasn't just the family dog but a part of the family, my friend!
Shirley called me this evening to assure me that Mia fit right in and loves her new home, she will be sleeping in the bed tonight not the garage! Thank you Jesus for giving Mia an amazing new home, she deserves it :-)
